I have a Garmin RV 660 and like it but am aware that a review of my route is a must. I generally use RV Trip Wizard to create my routes then download the route to Base Camp and Google My Maps. However you must be aware that when you download the route from Base Camp into the Garmin GPS the GPS will use the parameters/avoidance's you have set into it to create a new route that may or may not be the same route you downloaded or created in Base Camp. The same goes for Google My Maps. Google maps will simply look at the start point and end point of your route and create a route between the two using the parameters set into Google maps which for most folks is probably fastest.
The work around is to create enough waypoints between your start and destination points to force both the GPS and Google maps to follow your desired route.
