At Rockauto.com, under Chevrolet, 1996, P30, they have listings for control arms BUT they only are for the front disc and rear drum models.
If you look under "BALL JOINTS" in the same catagory you will find the heavier ball joints for the 4 wheel disc motor home chassis.
Perhaps the control arms are the same and you can buy the control arm for the rear drum P30 and remove the smaller ball joint and replace it with the correct ball joint for the 4 wheel disc P30.
Just a thought
You intuition is right. The shop ordered the control arms in but the ball joints were wrong, the taper was wrong and were for the drum brakes in the rear even though they used the VIN to order the parts. I gave them the correct Moog part numbers K6511 and they fit the taper in the knuckle. The shop that installed these control arms with the wrong ball joints two years ago used the Dorman 520183 and 50-184 which had a longer taper and were for drum brakes in the rear. What happened was they added several washers under the castle nut because the threads extended above the taper but the bottom of the taper was loose so the ball joint moved back and forth and elongated the taper in the knuckle which had to be re-machined to match the new ball joint. The ball joint had less than 10k miles on it when it failed. I am just thankful it was on rt 2 and not on a mountainous road in Mt I would not be telling this story. Now I just have to get the floor fixed so I can drive it home. When the front end collapsed the tire hit the passenger side floor and bent the substructure up cracking the floor so the dog house can close.
