Something to try if it keeps doing it. Get a couple of 7/16 thin flat washers, half moon them and use them for shims where the master cylinder bolts to your booster unit. it allows the master cylinder to open more when you release the peddle. I don't know what it is with those hydroboost units but sometimes when the peddle is all the way released, the master cylinder doesn't return far enough to allow the wheel cylinder fluid to return to the hyd reservoir, pressure builds, the peddle gets hard and the brakes overheat.
