Painting fiberglass motor home roof

Who has painted the fiberglass roof on your motor home and what did you use to do so?

Is there a reason that you can't just paint it with an elastomeric? I'm not aware that it reacts badly with anything.
Did my aluminum roof with it and it's been great so far.

Dicor is mentioned often with great results. Two coats and prep mainly consists of scrubbing with a scotch pad and masking. I've heard less than $100.00 and about 2-3 hours total.

Also, a Rustoleoum marine paint seems to be popular with excellent results.

It's pretty common and I'm planning on doing/having mine done shortly. Seem like there are several good paints available and the cost is moderate.....3-400 if you have it done and ~75 if you DIY. The painting is real easy but prep takes a bit of time.

would it be better to just go ahead and put EPDM down??

  • Be sure what ever you get (type paint) will not run...or you will have a huge mess.

  • Look at this link: Paint Not too expensive in the long run. Prep is very important.
  • read this and hope you have your $$$$ save up.

I grew up in the boat business and it is not cheap and at today prices and regulations cost get high. Don't cheap out, it will really cost you later.
