Is there a reason that you can't just paint it with an elastomeric? I'm not aware that it reacts badly with anything.
Did my aluminum roof with it and it's been great so far.
Dicor is mentioned often with great results. Two coats and prep mainly consists of scrubbing with a scotch pad and masking. I've heard less than $100.00 and about 2-3 hours total.
Also, a Rustoleoum marine paint seems to be popular with excellent results. - Mfar1234Explorer

It's pretty common and I'm planning on doing/having mine done shortly. Seem like there are several good paints available and the cost is moderate.....3-400 if you have it done and ~75 if you DIY. The painting is real easy but prep takes a bit of time.
would it be better to just go ahead and put EPDM down?? - havasuExplorerIs there a reason that you can't just paint it with an elastomeric? I'm not aware that it reacts badly with anything.

I grew up in the boat business and it is not cheap and at today prices and regulations cost get high. Don't cheap out, it will really cost you later.
