This is great, thank you. As an owner of 2 Thor products I am strongly considering the 33.3. Do you find the ride as smooth as expected for a Freightliner air ride chassis? How is road noise etc? Like you, I handle most of the tweaking myself unless it's a high dollar/complicated item. The ride and MPG is a main reason for us to look at this coach. Most can tout 12+ mpg which seems to align with your observation sans toad and terrain. A lot of folks who own older DP's say hogwash, but everyone I have talked to who owns a palazzo says MPG is great.
Thanks again.
This is a hard one to answer as I really have no experience with other motorhomes. I can tell you that the chassis really seems to glide over undulations but sharp bumps have been more severe than I expected, probably due to unsprung weight and excessive tire pressure. They are better since I let the excess air out of the tires. I really don't know why they don't do that at the dealer, it took me a while to find the wieght chart and get the rig weighed so I did not get to adjust the tires until recently. One problem I did have is that I had to take the wheel covers off the front to get at the valve stems. The rear valve stems were very easy to get to. One thing that I am still getting used to is that the front end dives when the brakes are applied. Everything else I have driven is set up so that torque from the front brakes lifts the front end to compensate for the weight shift. This chassis has members that pull the front axle and actually pull down on the front when braking, adding to the weight shift.
