With 6 yrs. of camping under our belts (not counting the rentals) we have never had a need for an outdoor carpet. I have seen in many parks that they are not allowed.
My first question for those that use them, what do you do on a rainy day when you have to roll it up? Is it a sloppy mess? Do you roll it up into a tube or something?
I have the mesh windshield covers that I have to roll up wet sometimes. I couldn't imagine having a huge carpet to deal with.

When it's wet out is when it does the most good. Once the mud was so thick the mat was floating on it! without the matt, all that woulda been inside our RV!
On a rainy day, the entire world becomes a sloppy mess.
We just fold it up and store it in the basement. When possible, hang it over a fence and hose it until it's clean.
Well Jim, you have me sold ME on not getting one! LOL! Really, a big ole wet muddy carpet in my nice clean carpet-lined bay? I don't think I would like that.
