Its me again 1994 holiday rambler. I took it out this weekend and as we packed up to go home I started the rv and then wrapped every think up go to take off and notice the shift pad was not lit up. but the rv was running. I turned off the rv and tried to re-start but it would not start. so I thought it was the key switch because as I played with it the panel would go on and off. put the new switch in still wont start and to lights on the shift pad. checked fuse and grounds can find anything. can anyone help please.

check battery ground contacts from the batteries to the frame.

couldn't find anything. Is there. Anyone in the Ocala area that I can trust to come look at it. The good thing is I am in the Ocala rv resort. But I was to go home today but that didn't happen. THANKS all you help

There is a fuse off the positive battery terminal that feeds the transmission. Mine was corroded and not making the circuit. It was a little hard to find as it was a foot or two from the battery. Look at the positive battery terminal for the chassis battery. There should be a small wire connected along with the large starter wire. Follow that smaller wire until you find a fuse. Also check any and all connections along that wire. It should carry 12 volts positive regardless of the key position.Good luck!

If I'm recalling correctly, there is a guy in, I believe Texas that rebuilds them. I don't recall the name/place. However, I think that forum member Brett Wolf might know who he is.

Yup, that price is about right. I broke down last spring, keypad went blank, engine shut down - in the middle of an intersection!!! Towed to local truck repair center, same result as you - $2200 + $250 program - plus labor - all in all close to $4k. I am a fulltimer, lots of miles since the breakdown, all trouble free.

This is what I found out. it is the ECU It I had it tested and it come on for about 5min then want off. he hook my pad to a different ECU and that one was fine. to he re tried mine again and it never came back on a new one is $2600 Plus reprograming so I left the rv at the campground came home to look for a better deal. the new part # 29517003 or something about wteck 07 or o8 if anyone see a deal please let me know thanks for all the help

Unfortunately, with the keypad operated transmission, there is no way to put it into Neutral unless the keypad is operating. There is no shift lever.

I had an E250 van that had that problem. It was a bad neutral safety switch. I realize we are talking about two completely different vehicles, but it might apply.

On mine you could put the transmission into Neutral instead of Park and it would start.

I drove for two weeks until I could get it replaced.
You might give it a try, if it works it will let you get home to a mechanic you know.
