Planning on buying a Roadtrek -- Advice?

Quick follow-up question: I notice in looking at pics of the older 190 Populars that there doesn't seem to be a lot of clearance between the back of the driver's seat and the wardrobe, but it is a little harder to tell what the clearance is for a portly guy like myself re. the steering wheel. Some years ago I test drove an old VW Bay Westfalia camper, and the steering wheel was hitting me in the belly, a deal-breaker. I'm assuming the 190 is a little bigger, but the pictures have me a little concerned.
