NoVa RT: I thought the price might be a little high, too... What's totally weird on NADA is that the "suggested retail" is always more than double the "average retail," which makes the whole enterprise of looking up a value on NADA seem pretty pointless.
mkguitar: I had to smile at the Nascar reference... Yep, those are some pretty small quarters... For some years I was the doc for Gateway International Raceway (now Gateway Motorsports) just outside of St. Louis... worked the four big races of the year... Busch Series, Indie Lights, NHRA... and one more I can't remember at the moment... Took care of Ehrnhardt Jr., and others... They had to come see me if they had a wreck that couldn't be driven back to the pit, even if they denied injuries... plus, they always wanted to tank up on IV fluids before the race... And sometimes they'd have to update an annual physical before they could race.
One time I had an invite to take a ride in a Nascar rig... took one look and realized I'd never get in and out of the window without killing myself! Now you understand my concerns about the steering wheel. I'm not Jaba the Hut by any means.. but at 5'11" and 275, and 62 years old now, I'm not as nimble as I was 20 years ago, either! LOL!
I plan to go drive a couple rigs a week from Monday... the St. Louis dealer we've referenced is closed this coming New Year's week. I don't know how negotiable they are on their "asking price," being a dealer... But I'm willing to pay some level of premium to have the backing of a knowledgeable and reputable place with experience in these things... But not an arm and a leg more... Hmmm...
