I'm hoping to do some boondocking from time to time on BLM land, etc. So would like to have a working generator "just in case." I used to have a whole house generator when I lived out on a farm, and I had it set to come on once a week for 20 minutes to keep the battery charged, do a system check, etc.
You bring up solar... I've been looking at that a little... seems like a good idea, particularly since I suspect I'll be snowbirding to some degree. Does the whole contraption on the roof cause a lot of wind drag? Noise?
Another question that I've been thinking about if anyone has any thoughts about model years: Anyone have any thoughts/knowledge re. what years saw significant model changes for either good or ill? Someone mentioned that the camper build was better in years past than it seems to be now. When did that change?
Also, seems like the older models tend to be Dodges about 5 to 1 over Chevy's, and yet the Chevy's seem to be preferred. Was Roadtrek not using the Chevy's early on?
Hope I'm not making a pest of myself with all these questions... I'm sure learning a lot!
