401nailhead: No pun intended, but you really "nailed it" on the issues at hand... NADA lists average retail as $25K "with" the 19% increase for low miles... (It's an '02, btw, not '03) And yet... someone may be willing to pay $29K based on description, etc., etc.
Not independently wealthy, not broke, either... But am retiring, and feel some responsibility to "reasonableness" re. what I pay... and also thinking that if I buy right, and it ends up not being the model for me, I can at least get out with my shirt intact. If I pay a premium, would likely at least lose a sleeve! ;-)
All trade-offs, to be sure...
