Poor GPS Reception in a "C"

I am experiencing poor satellite reception on my GPS mounted on the windshield of my class C. I suspect that the overhead bunk hanging over the cab is blocking the signal. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, what have you done to resolve it?

Thanks,

Ron

  • I would say that could be your problem. I have a Garmin Nuvi 50 that I got in January and it works great no matter where I locate it.

It is a few years old. Maybe time to upgrade. Thanks.
  • no problems here....

and to SAR Tracker... please explain... as I am unaware of a normal GPS unit that has a separate antenna..

  • Put the antenna on top of the roof. Glue a steel plate on the roof if the antenna is magnetic.

GPS signals will get degraded under a TREE, not to mention under aluminum/steel structure.
