Popping noise when turning

Hey everyone, headed out for the first time this year in our forest river georgetown class a yesterday and when a make a right hand turn there is a loud popping noise that seems to come from the back of the rig. Found a large parking lot and tried to get it to duplicate but had no luck. Any ideas how to track it down since it doesnt do it every time?
  • 2edgesword? I somehow know answers to questions because I asked you what a WDH was? Interesting logic. Don't remember tangling with you before. Maybe a case of mistaken identity?
  • Its a 2012 with 5600 miles, after closer examination it is the rear sway bar. It has came loose at the top bolt on the rear end. Thanks

He didn't say he was towing a toad so why are you talking about a weight distribution hitch?

    What am I missing here?

Because grandpa thinks he knows the answer before he even understands the question :).

  • While I reference WDH it's the anti-sway portion of the hitch (curved spring bars riding in the cam's) that generate the popping sound when turning.

Weight Distributing Hitch used to transfer weight to the front axle of the tow vehicle to keep everything level.

  • If you have a dual-cam WDH the popping could be the stabilizer bar and cam coming together during a sharp turn. This is normal.
