Not unusual since the transmission was under a load and the cooling air flow was reduced by the slow speeds. Don't know if you are using Transynd fluid or the old Dex III but I know my transmission runs a few degrees cooler with Transynd. If you do replace your fluid, make sure that they use Transynd, which is what Allison recommends for all of their transmissions now.
