lacofdfireman,
Some thoughts:
- You have two 6 volt deep cycle batteries? How old are they?
Perhaps your batteries have been damaged by too many deep discharges?
- We like to use a portable propane heater (Buddy) in the evenings to supplement the furnace, however, we do turn it off before retiring for the night and let the furnace keep the chill off (and pipes from freezing) while sleeping.
- If you haven't yet already done so, you may want to consider replacing your light bulbs with LED's to reduce power consumption.
- Solar is a wonderful addition, especially in Utah.
