Seriously, look at adding an auto-start to the Genny. Cost-wise it's probably a lot less $$$ than adding more batteries and finding a place to put them. Some models will even adjust for "quiet times"
Onan Auto Start
If it is that cold, he wouldn't be the only one with the generator running. I think he is boon docking or he would be connected to power and there would be no problem.
