Possible to swap booth out for a sofa in C?

Just an idea. Looking at newer Cs and wonder if it could be done, take out the booth and put in a sofa sleeper. We would have to pay someone to do it.
  • I want to order a c without the dinnette or couch. I have two things I want to take with me when I hit the road to fulltime. One is an old rocking chair the other a very antique table. Its not big but it is not for eating on. It travelled the prairies over a hundred years ago! Its a family treasure.
I think I would do best with a toyhauler class c. Im also a handspinner so need alittle space for fiber and yarn storage. That stuff can be squeezed into small spaces. Im alone so all space will be used for things listed plus pet bugs too!
  • when I bought my first motorhome, a flair 25Y? I had the choice of dinette or sofa. on advice of BIL, got sofa, hated it. having to use makeshift tables to eat, etc. was a pain. would have preferred a dinette that was comfortable to sit at.

  • Remember the door on an rv is small you may not be able to get the sofa you want installed.
  • OK. Thanks, all. I'm thinking we can take a couple of tv tables for meals. Yes, we need a place for guests to sleep. Plus we like to sit on the sofa of the last two rvs we've had. Not sure I'll actually do it but knowing it may be possible helps with the decision-making. Getting anxious to get a moving with the weather getting warmer.
  • Like others have said check under the dinette and make sure nothing but flat floor is under it. Mine was that way, took out the dinette and put in two La-Z-Boy recliners. Dick
  • Before we got our B+ we looked at a couple that had pulled the dinette and put a table and chair in. Made the think look like junk IMO. We have a curved dinette in our B+ and would rather have the standard dinette and yes it can be pulled and replaced with one. I looked at ours and where it curves it just thin plywood bent to a curve so would need to have new cushions made. Yes the dinette can be pulled and replaced with a couch and really should not cost a lot but more than likely would. Just be prepared to put new carpet in as most are on bare wood/vinyl. But do you really want to eat on a couch vs a table or are you think about a add a table in front of the couch. We looked at a unit and that was what they had for a dinette arrangement. Forget the brand but it was one of more expensive ones, wife did not like it at all!
  • Depends...some booths, as in my motorhome, have storage under the seats which have access from the inside, as well as the outside of the motorhome. Also, some motorhomes may have electrical components under the seats. Just some things to consider...
