Potable satellite dish hookup

I have a new Winnebago Sightseer. Previously had two Winnebagos and all have Traveller directv sat. I use a vucube from time to time or othexternal source and switch as required from the outlet and get good signal on lounge TV but none in bedroom. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is with the portable?

Had similar issue until I discovered portable does not support two receivers. Had to upgrade to Anser

Jim, what is Anser? I am now using the dish on the roof of my cottage that is set up FO Swm system just like my Traveler. I bring into coac through the portable port but only get one TV just like my vucube. I wonder if I installed a diplexer if I could get it to the bedroom. Maybe I should give up. I am located in the boonies and get one over the air channel but better than zero. Too many trees to use the traveler. Ok, chainsaw may be the answer.

  • In the front cabinet I have three coax male connections. One is from roof top. Second Is portable. Third is out to receiver. In bedroom I have two. One is rooftop sat and other not marked. I tried taking the portable in NDB connecting to the receiver out NDB no change. Receiver in bedroom still says searching.

You say you get a good signal in the lounge but not the the bedroom...

Question: Do you have two Sat Receivers or is your sat receiver in the lounge area and the bedroom is "Remote" from it?

One of the things I often say is that many RV's are wired with a few miles of "Lowest Bidder" wire, this includes the coax cable. .Lowest bidder tends to be very high loss.. And if some skiled (not) tecnician put a staple, nail or screw through the coax, or failed to crimp the ends on well enough... Well, this only makes it "Lower cost/quality"

If you are running a dual LNB antenna and multiple receivers, you have a bad coax or connetion.

There should be a place to hook up the dish in your electrical or sewer bay, wherever you plug into cable. My Itasca had a two hookup points. One labeled "cable" and other "portable satellite dish". I also have roof dish.

That is where I hooked up and then went to the front compartment and changed the receiver coax to portable. Great picture on lounge TV but no sat signal on bedroom receiver. My question: is this normal or is there another(additional connection I need to make. Or is there at least a method to get what is on my lounge tv to duplicate in bedroom?
