The black eye to the Palazzo was the full wall slide failures. The Shwintek mechanism specifically was under-engineered to support a full wall slide. But, Thor wasn't the only brand using them. Plenty of Winnie problems as well. Thor got a lot of bad publicity from a few isolated cases. Friends of ours own a Palazzo (pre double rail system) and have had their share of issues too. I think someone mentioned earlier that it's a DP on a gasser budget so have some realistic expectations. Be mindful of the year and see if it has double rails and ask for the VIN and call Thor for a list of the warranty work done. I would steer clear of a unit with previous slide issues. Outside of that I think Thor makes a decent coach based on budget. It's not high quality but you aren't paying high quality prices. You get what you pay for essentially. (Well technically you never get what you pay for in an RV but you know what I mean).
If I were in the market for an entry level DP I would look hard at the Newmar Ventana LE. Nice coach in the same price point and no real complaints that I have seen. And they don't use Shwintek slides.
