You mentioned 12" thick concrete in the back of your pad. Base is much cheaper than concrete. Use base to level the pad and pour 6" of concrete. This will out last you.
I don't think I explained it so good. My land slopes from front to back. The front is dug down 12inches and the rear is sitting on original grade. The whole pad will have 6inches of process/stone then 6inch of concrete with mesh.
