I'd still try to rent a 36" power trowel. This will make it quicker and easier to get a level and even steel trowel finish.
On the big commercial buildings that I used to build, we would use multiple power trowels that you would ride on. Made it easier to finish 50,000 square feet at a time. Have fun.
