- If you use one make sure your read and understand the operators manual. Pay close attention to the part about ventilation being required for safe operation. Personally I wouldn't use one in a camper without a carbon monoxide detector.

I just watched a video about these heaters. A man who has used one for many years says he keeps his top vents open ( Im assuming they are the 12 inch and not the escape hatch on my rig) and the bathroom vent open as well.
Then cracks a window and he says it's very comfortable with both fresh air and the heat .
Now, how do you that use these run the piping into the rig? I have a 25 foot extension hose to run my barbecue.
The battery box area looks intriguing but I do not like to drill holes in anything.
What say you..... - bobndotExplorer IIBeing a boondocker I have used the Mr Buddy 9000 btu in all my RV's for many years and it has worked very well. Yes, I vent using my roof vent and I have two detectors monitoring. I also have never had a condensation issue and use common sense by placing the heater in a safe location where nothing can accidently fall on it to catch fire. If you have a pet, especially with a tail, you might not want to place the heater on the floor. It would act like a fuse :E:S

We originally bought the buddy because we only had one battery and no hookups. As soon as the sun went down at 4.30pm the temps would really drop off making it a long night to operate off one battery.
We started out using it when it was really cold out and we basically would dry camp with no water in our rv during our snowmobile season. The furnace would run almost non stop and became annoying over time.
We gave the buddy heater a try and just stayed with it. We do start things off using the furnace and once the rv is heated up the buddy keeps it topped off.
We use a small portable battery operated DVD player which is hard to hear over the furnace, so the buddy helps with that as well. It seems to use less LP too. Its a good back up heater to have, we always have it with us. - Fresno_Tundra_DExplorer

Two reasons for me...
1) It’s an energy hog.
2) It’s noisy, turning on and off throughout the night. - midnightsadieExplorer IIx2
- traviscExplorerI put a t in at the furnace along with a ball valve it works great when I test it and we crack the vent and a window
