Pre Owned Luxury Coach showdown

I am finding this process of looking for our RV rather fun and interesting. As always...thank you for your feedback!

Which coach would you buy and why? I realize one is a 40' and the other a 45er. I am more looking for feedback on quality for the dollar.

2007 Beaver Marquis

or

2007 Foretravel Nimbus
  • Um, you're Canadian. It would be unpatriotic to not buy a Beaver.
  • Well I like the Beaver but I am not a big fan of the drive train. This Prevost however, I am really considering even though it doesn't have a slide. Wow...I am sure it would haul a**

Actually neither. The Beaver is beautiful BUT it has a trouble prone Cat C15 Acert engine... Do a Google search and see why I say this.
The Foretravel is a nice 10 airbag monocoupe MH but only 40'.
For $35K less than the Foretravel I'd go for a 45' 10 airbag monocoupe MH like this. I'm going to enjoy the Foretravel lover's comments.:B
  • That is one nice Beaver coach. If you noticed, the Nimbus doesn't have slide toppers. People have complained about water intrusion due to not having slide toppers.
  • Have you seen the coaches?

We stopped at Motorhomes of Texas last spring to see what was available in the $125K-$175K price range. The Foretravels, Newells and Country Coaches in that price range on their lot at that time, were not in condition that we would trade our present coach for. Signs of leakage, extremely worn leather and fogged glass seemed to be the norm. I would look at reconditioned motorhomes at the Foretravel sales lot down the street also. The Foretavel has an excellent air slide seal system that we really like, as well the mono-coupe construction, with an excellent overall build quality.

The Beaver is also an excellent coach, I do not care for the "flange type" overlapping seals on the slide-outs that are evident in the photos, we have those now and in cold windy weather they can be drafty.

Another place you may choose to look at is Panterra Coach. They buy and then recondition high end coaches, their primary sales outlet is in Holland Michigan. We bought our B+ from them in 2012 which was on consignment.
  • Miramichi, that is a hard choice. Both are beautiful coaches, both companies are still in business.

The deciding factor will be when you see them in person to see the real condition. Pictures always look better than up close and personal.

    Good luck,
    MM.
  • That Beaver is a sweet coach...it will be an all electric coach with an extra bathroom. The build quality will be second to none. It has the 600HP Cat while the Foretravel has the same engine I have, which is a fantastic engine. All said and done, while the Foretravel is nice, I'd opt for the Beaver in a heartbeat......Dennis
