Just curious. Is there any reason you can't pull in nose first? I may be completely off base, but, it seems you either back it in or back it out. Pulling in nose first would make proper placement easier and backing out so long as you don't rub a wall you are okay. It also keeps the diesel exhaust out of the garage.
ridin,
No Sir, there's no reason at all that says you can't "nose" the big beast in. I didn't put two stripes on the floor so I could use both for backing in. I only use the drivers side for backing in. I put two on that floor so I could use the other one, just for "nosing" in, whenever the time comes and I want it in forward. I just drive right in, with the left front tire two inches away from the line and it's dead centered, side to side. I say two inches 'cause the wheel track is 4" narrower than the dual rear wheel track. Those tires are right on the inside of the line when I back it in.
I have a spot on the wall that lines up with my mirror and that tells me I'm backed in, within 1/2" of the same spot, each and every time. That epoxy floor is the nicest thing since the creation of tires. You can spill anything you want on it and, NOTHING, I mean, NOTHING sticks to it, not even warm tires. And it is some seriously tough stuff. I've dropped some heavy steel components on it a few times and didn't even phase it.
