I mention this because you mentioned turning the Jack on with it's own switch. On my coach I have a switching box that has it's own antenna amplifier and there is NOT a separate switch for the Jack. Perhaps if two amplifiers are on this is causing the problem.
I think the 2nd switch being referred to is to turn the signal indicator off/on. It is not a second booster switch.
