I bought my Roadtrek 210 without an awning or TV antenna, so it pretty much looks like a van. I've been to places where they said "no RVs allowed" and been waved right in. I've also encountered an RV park that didn't allow van conversions and was denied entrance because "I wasn't an RV".
To many people/organizations in the world today trying to make rules that the rest of us are to follow so they can be happy and HOA's are near the top of that list. But life is too short to have to fight and/or deal with these people, so when I encounter them I just move on.
