I was replying to 1775's post, and I never said anything about suing. The video and documentation were to be able to show a new board, imaybe 10 years down the road, that you are grandfathered in and allowed to park there. Information, and documents can get lost, and it's a good idea to have a copy if they are ever needed.
Again, I don't know where the word "suing" was ever a part of mine or 1775's post.
Everything in your post has already been said in other posts in this thread.
Your comment about being "grandfathered in" is not what grandfathering in means. To be grandfathered in means that you were there BEFORE THE RULE WAS MADE and the board has allowed you to continue doing whatever is now disallowed by the new rule until you leave - not that you got to slip by unnoticed for however long. The rule was in effect before the OP moved in - therefore he cannot be "grandfathered in" with his roadtrek.
That means that if he is at any point told in the future that his roadtrek is in violation of the rule, the only thing he can do is argue that his having been allowed to park it there for X amount of time defines his roadtrek as "not an RV" by default. That type of argument won't be won without going to a court of law - the new HOA board is not going to budge if they have decided that the roadtrek is an RV for whatever reason (usually because someone has complained or someone on the board decides they don't like the OP). This is the practical implication of dealing with an HOA board.
