I am not sure about Fort Wilderness but I have found that it is against fire regulations in a lot of cities. They are afraid of an accident while filling with them parked so closely. One gas company told me that they did not do campgrounds because if the furnace kicks on next door or just a pilot light next door could cause a major explosion. That is generally why they want you to pull out to refill.
