IMO, "the guy" needs some education. I don't believe the propane detector and solenoid valve will drain the battery all that fast.
I have had three coaches so equipped, and I have dry camped for as long as a week with no battery troubles. I have let them sit for a month or more, and the batteries were not discharged by the propane warning system.
After 2 months, yes. the batteries were drained by the parasitic loads in the coach. There are more than just the propane safety system, y'know.
When in storage, I start it once a month anyway to keep the batteries charged among other things.
Dead batteries at 20 below zero is a BAD thing!
