Dale:
I drove transit buses for a couple of years after retiring from Boeing. They were mostly Gilligs. The steering column had two universal joints and about 18" of adjustment. The driver's seat was a Recaro with vertical adjustment, fore/aft adjustment, cushion angle and backrest adjustment.
We had drivers ranging in height from 5'1" to 6'9"and everyone could get comfortable. I found a nine hour shift to be no problem, but I got cramps after only 2 hours in our RV. It wasn't practical to consider driving days of more than 175 miles, even with a couple of 30-minute walk-around breaks.
If we'd kept the MH on a long-term basis, I was considering going to a bus wrecking yard and getting the Gillig hardware to put in our Georgetown. I considered those Flexsteel seats it had to be the worst I'd ever come across. My 1938 Austin Seven car had better ones!
