Which is why I agree with the others.... make your best deal on buying the new coach before mentioning the trade in.
I did just that a few years ago and was very pleased with the outcome. I knew exactly how much I was paying for the new one and exactly how much they were paying for the old one.
Negotiate the new one until your happy, then say you thought about selling the old one outright but if they can make you a decent offer on it that will make your decision to buy the new one that much easier.
