Flanz, that repair isn't scary at all! You have no idea how common it is! Public transportation buses face it all the time! If you want to get an estimate of what a professional experienced in this repair to buses and coaches alike would charge, give a call to RMS of Hanover, PA a call and speak to Cecil. I'm certain he'd work up a ballpark with some digital pictures.
Yes - You may be correct, but the issue that I have is finding a person willing to buy the coach and take on the repairs. I don't want to do it. I'm not putting any money into the coach and will try to price it accordingly. I figure it'll take a couple grand for the doors and maybe $500 for the gas tank fix.
We were talking about this last night and may put it on CL's for $8500 and go no lower that $7K. If it doesn't sell on CL's, then we'll go the route of getting best price for new coach and sliding in the old coach as a trade for whatever they'll give us.
I hate tire kickers. Here's one reason why, I'm selling a computer on CL's - a nice one and not too expensive. Got a response from an individual and I asked him if he would like to see it. His response - I'd love too, but I don't drive!!!! Can't make this stuff up......
