Putting you RV on blocks permanently

Haven't seen this mentioned, so I'll say it. Get two or three other opinions.

The undercarriage of an RV is very stout and highly unlikely to have rusted through in such a way as to make it unsafe to drive. You might need to do a little work on the basement compartments but not much more than that. Just consider that the frame rails do the heavy load carrying and that they are 1/2" thick steel.

I'd sell it with full disclosure. There are plenty of set up park models for sale at the park of your choice. Why go through the head ache?

I don't think the issue is being in a seasonal park. I would think the issues would be putting it up on blocks unless it's a pretty crummy-looking park. Most parks like their park looking nice.

FWIW, rigs that are parked close to salt water that have heavy dew will have all sorts of rust issues. The prior owner may have wintered in such a spot.

Be careful with pressure treated wood. The modern treatment chemicals are quite corrosive to many metals, particularly but not exclusively aluminum. If you have the PT wood in contact with aluminum parts of your RV, the aluminum will be eaten away before too long. I would suggest using some sort of a buffer material, such as untreated wood or one of the membrane materials sold for that purpose, and of course fasteners rated for use with PT wood.

You really don't want to set up at just any CG as a 'resident camper'. Sadly the CG's that allow that do tend to be a bit run down. you are parked on the outskirts with equally run down RV's. Seasonal Site CG's are NOT like that.

In a Seasonal section they lump them all together in rows just like in a normal CG, so you won't be bothered by weekend RV'ers pulling in and out all the time.

I have many friends that have done this and they love it. They drive their car out whenever they want and spend whatever time they want at their RV. They found they actually spent more time getting away doing it this way also. It's like a giant neighborhood.

You will make a whole new circle of friends too. The Seasonal's are a great bunch of campers, Looking out for one another!:C

You will then be called, and in the category of a Seasonal RV'er!! :W

As said, check if the permanent placement idea is doable in locations that you'd like.
California forbids having permanent RV even on farm lands in some counties.
Meaning even if you buy 20 acres, you might not have your RV there.
Coming to the rust, Toronto is famous for salty roads, if not capitol of vehicle corrosion, so likely RV was driven in the winter at some time.
On $10k job always seek 2nd and 3rd quote.
