Chuck, followed your directions for the air bag remote, worked like a charm. That is a pretty nice option and it also allows for a full width overhead front cabinet by not having the gauges and switches in there.

I went over this morning and found the compressor. I have to get the proper screw driver to take the cover off. The battery, now having the correct amount of water/acid fully charged overnight. I pulled the anode out of the water heater, it was just finger tight, I don't believe there was ever water in there, I taped the threads, put the valves in summer position and filled it, no leaks. Two down and few more to check. I'm going to e-mail PW now to see if I can get the correct owners manual, with it I won't be asking all these questions. There are a lot of things different about this Excel when compared to my 04 and 07 units such as the locations of various things, different type of air condtioner and thermostat, TV, smaller exterior storage but more storage inside,so far I like all of the changes they made.

Hi Nick -

My rear air bag compressor, valves, and receiver are in the passenger side ottoman just behind the larger sink / stove cabinet. The same box that the breakers, fuses,and co / propane detector are in. Looking down at the box, unscrew and remove the thin wood cover to see everything in the box.

If you are talking about the compressor for the air bags, mine is in the left cabinet under the kitchen sink next to the water pump.

I fixed the battery box problem, the slide rails were corroded. I don't think it was ever checked as the water was down to the plates. I cleaned and oiled the rails and all is well and hopefully it will be fully charged by tomorrow. This unit was a left over 2012 model that was purchased new less than 6 months ago and the owner sold it due to a death in the family. It has not been maintained the way it should have been, the hot water tank was never used, it's still in the winter valve position, nothing that runs on propane was used, the air bags had no pressure in them, and it needed a good cleaning which I took care of and it now looks like a new unit, I'll polish and wax it in a couple weeks. Chuck, if you read this, can you tell me where the compressor is located, I ran out of time over at my building today and didn't look through all of the compartments. As I mentioned, the manual is from an earlier year and doesn't show a location for the compressor.

Barb, I can't even see into the first cell, there must be something stuck in the slide rails, it seems to lock up after about two inches of travel. Chuck, thanks for the remote instructions, I'll try it out over the next few days. I also figured out that the owner's manual is for a earlier model that has the roof AC, and cabinet TV so some of the instructions are not correct. This is my fifth Pleasure-way so most of the operations are familiar to me. The wall thermostat with the heat pump is one of the features that is new to me.

From the Firestone installation manual - with some clarification.

STEP 7- USING THE WIRELESS CONTROLLER
With the Air Command kit and the air springs installed, you are ready to test the system. Place the 9V battery into the controller. Turn the coach red battery disconnect switch on.

Press the MODE or any other button to turn on the remote. The MODE and ARROW keys are used to cycle through the screen and make selections to inflate/deflate the air springs. Pressing the MODE button once will display an arrow pointing at the Front Left (FL) corner. Pressing the up/down button at this time will change the pressure in the air spring. Continuing to press the MODE button will cycle through the corners:

Once the pressure has been selected, the system will turn on the compressor or open the exhaust valve to change the pressure. The change can be stopped by pressing either arrow key.

The display will turn off after 20 seconds of inactivity. To show the display, just press any of the buttons. End of Firestone words.

I remember that the Memory buttons are set by holding one of them down for a while when the displayed pressures are what you want for the rear two bags. Later the Memory button is used to return the two bags to the previously desired pressure.

Just "playing" with the unit should show what needs to be done to get what you want.

It seems like the van rear leveling capability of the air bags is equivalent to about a 2 inch thick board under one rear tire.

Hi, Nick. I'll check my battery compartment tomorrow, but I remember it never slides out far enough to check the last one or two cells. I have the same Firestone inside air bag toggles as Scarpi. I'm sure Phil at Pleasure Way would give you info on using the remote if you called him.

Thanks Scarpi. The battery feels like it is stuck somewhere in the slide rails but I will check the handle. I don't have the buttons and gauges in the overhead cabinet, it came with a Firestone remote control, still in the bubble wrap but no instructions. They might have changed them the last cou ple years.
