PW Excel battery tray

Is there a trick to sliding the battery tray out enough to check the water level? This is a 2012 model and it only slides out a few inches. I don't remember it being a problem on my 2007. Also, it came with a remote for the air bag compressor but no instructions on how to operate it, any advice on both issues would be appreciated.

  • I have an 09 PW Excel. I find that the carrying handle for the coach battery sometimes prevents the tray from sliding out all the way. I reach in after unlatching the tray and push down on the battery handle and the tray slides out enough to check the water level on mine. Of course yours may be different. I also have the Firestone Air bags. The left/right switches are in the cabinet above the front of the RV. There is a left and right switch. I don't have what you call a remote control. Push each switch up and the pressure increases in each air bag, pull it down and the pressure decreases. I don't know if this information will answer your question. I don't have an actual "remote control".
