We have a 2006 Coachman motor home and are in need of replacing one of our Goodyear tires. The unit is 36' long, 18,000lbs. empty and 22,000 lbs. fully loaded. The tires we have on it now are as follows: Goodyear G670, 245/70R 19.5, Load range F and the wheel diameter appears to be 32" and tire width right at 9".
We live in Roanoke, VA and was wondering where we could purchase a new tire without having to leave our wallet with the vendor, if you know what I mean.
Thanks for any recommendations!!
I live at SML and worked in Roanoke for 39 years until retiring May 1. I have bought tires for 3 motorhomes in Roanoke. Depending on what brand/s you select, I would recommend any of the following:
1. Toyo commercial truck tire dealer in Salem. Can't remember their name but big place right where the Roanoke River passes thru.
2. CCI on Orange Avenue. They have Bridgestone and couple of other brands I can't remember right now.
3. TCI on Williamson Road. They are the Michelin dealer and also have Hankook which I put on my last motorhome, AH-12's. Great tire and not as expensive as Michelin, Bridgestone or Goodyear.
4. Thompson's Tire in West Salem. They sell Goodyear, BF Goodrich and Kelly.
Any of these folks can handle a motorhome.
Also, IMO, if you have your original 8 year old tires on the coach, they are due for replacement regardless of how much tread they have on them. Motorhome tires age out before they wear out.
