You were driving the rig. You are responsible. Why drivers are afraid to get out and look baffles me. When I have been backed up by anyone if I have ANY doubt I get out and look. I point out problem areas that concern me. If I thought the guy was too lax about the dish I would have said sternly, " don't back me over that dish or you'll pay for it." Do not be afraid of the guy just because he has a scooter and works for the RV park. Some are really good and some are worthless. When I was trained commercially my trainer told me, "if you are too lazy to get out of that warm seat and walk around your rig when you have any doubts you'll eventually hit something". My coach, my insurace, my driving record, plus the I usually need the exercise.
