You could diplomatically asked the campground to split the cost with you. A "call you attorney threat" may have added some reinforcement to a 50-50 split.
I don't like anyone helping me park. I do it on my own. Review camera and excellent side mirrors and I'll get out for a "look see" if I have to. I do have my wife outside when I leave a site. Mostly making certain I'm not still attached to anything or leave any items behind. Knock on wood!!
