Because you were by yourself, and the park employee volunteered to direct you, I think they should take some responsibility. An employee of an RV park should be trained and knowledgeable about the risks involved. A previous poster that owned or managed a park said park property got damaged by RV drivers regularly. So they know that RV drivers can't see everything around their vehicles. The employee should have surveyed the area around your site and directed you properly. Since they didn't, they should have accepted some of the blame. Also, when vehicle accidents happen on public roads, it is not the norm for payment, or replacement to immediately be done. Why, in this case did you replace the Tailgater within hours of the accident? Why didn't you contact the owner of the park and your insurance company to help you determine what you should do? It was a collision that caused damage! I'm sure you have collision coverage, just look at your policy! And, the poster that said you should take the old Tailgater was right. The damaged one possibly could have been repaired for much less! Insurance adjusters would know that.
