You're right about the longer wheelbase and another factor that contributes to towing weight.
If you'll just bite the bullet and go for a good 40ft DP and I did say a good one and not with a 2500 series tranny that will pull next to nothing. In fact, weak transmissions are the real sore spot and usually the weak link, when it comes to pulling power.
There's other factors to consider and worth checking out, as well.
EXP.... I can pull 15k and the specs. do match, but with the GVWR, as it is and even though a ton to the good when fully loaded, it's all to the front. Meaning that the rear axle is at max or a little over and not a biggie, unless I add to the hitch weight, which is rated at 1500lbs. Pretty stupid with these ratings they advertise, when they know better and one shouldn't have to be doing math, just for picking out a coach, that will suit their needs. Since we pull 4 down, it's no biggie and the Jeep is not a factor at all, but if we should choose to pull a trailer of any sort, then possibly a weight distribution hitch, would be in order.
I really don't want to go 40' 35' or 36' could work the problem I am having is I am not looking for new and finding the right one that has the towing capacity is difficult because I really don't know what models and brands will have the larger towing capacity.
