Quetion re: pad for tires on concrete

I began preparing a pad out of pressure treated lumber for our MH tires to sit on rather than sitting directly on the concrete pad. My thought was to use PT lumber to make it weather (last) longer. But, am now wondering if it is wise to make the pads out of pressure treated lumber. Is there a chance chemicals in the PT wood might leach into and damage the tires? Any one with thoughts about this?

If this is not wise, what would you make the pats out of that would stand up to rainy weather? Thanks! / Larry

What's wrong with the tires sitting on concrete?
X-2, Michelin's website says if storing your RV indoors on concrete cardboard is OK to use as a pad.
  • I've been parking my rv over the years on plywood on the concrete.
Out here in the very hot southwest, you better have some kind of insulation under the tires and covered or they will deteriorate very fast.
    JMHO
  • My storage yard is gravel. I bought a horse stall mat and cut it to fit. It works great.
  • If you use rubber mats under tires to keep moisture from entering your tire from the concrete, what is stopping the moisture from going through the mats and into your tires?
    Maybe we need plastic tires!
If water enters rubber then the people with rubber roofs are in big trouble!
  • A few years back stored some tires under a out building on ground. When looked at them a few years later, the bottom was rotted top looked good.
