I understand that a ralley is being held i Quartzite in Jan/2014, Has anyone attended one these and what goes on and any suggestions on what to look for as to camping,

Not everyone goes to Quartzsite for the shows and to buy stuff. Many go to meet up with their friends or to camp with specific groups such 4-wheelers, geocachers, ham radio enthusists, specific brands of RVs, etc.
Those that haven't been or those who take the word of a friend of a friend of a friend really can't appriciate the fun of parking among those with like interests. There are pot lucks, seminars, learning new things, various outings, hiking and sitting around the campfires. It truly is fun if you go with a group. There is no other place to compare being at Quartzsite during the height of the activities!
