Those that haven't been or those who take the word of a friend of a friend of a friend really can't appriciate the fun of parking among those with like interests. There are pot lucks, seminars, learning new things, various outings, hiking and sitting around the campfires. It truly is fun if you go with a group. There is no other place to compare being at Quartzsite during the height of the activities!

And that as far as I'm concerned is the essence of Quartzsite and "show week". People whine and complain that there is nothing to do, complain about the tent, complain about the vendors, complain about the crowds, or just complain... The best explanation of this 'happening' is that it's just that. We go there to hang with friends, catch up, fly airplanes and helicopters, and break things to go into town for parts to fix them. The GROUPS of campers assembling across the desert for literally miles in all directions are there for the same thing, that's why they're not part of the whiners and complainers. The goings on in town is a side show to why we're there in the 1st place. Those that go just to shop or looking for deals and expecting to be entertained will likely be disappointed.
