Class A 1996 Chevrolet 454 engine starting problem

I have continuing problem on starting 1996 Chevrolet 454 engine. Problem appears to be ignition, no spark from coil. It will start sometimes, run fine, shut it off and try to start later and it won'...

I have a '92 Chevy dump truck that I experienced a similar problem with. Ended up changing the pick-up module in the distributor and haven't had a problem since. Not expensive and easy change-out.
