Is the new Ford 6 speed really that BIG a deal?

I just purchased a 2017 challenger with the 6 speed. One thing I really noticed was when the thing shifted into 6 gear the coach really took off. It was up to 70,75 mph right now. Had to hold it back. Going from a diesel back to a gasser really impressed me.
