Ok, got it working. Sure enough, the outlets in the media cabinet were nothing more than a small power strip that terminated in an electrical component area under the bed on the driver side. I found that the other end was not plugged in, nor was there anywhere in there to plug it in, so I am not sure why this power strip was installed, but it seems OEM since it runs through the wall.
Anyway, in all that poking around, I found another receptacle. It was mounted on the underside of the media cabinet, right next to some access holes, so I was able to run the power cables through there and plug them in, and all was working well. Thanks for the ideas folks. I have learned a lot about this vehicle in the past 24 hours :)
