Snake in a basement of DP!

Many years ago my uncle Mike loved to run trotlines on the Neches River in East Texas. Well one day I dropped by to visit and found him patching the bottom of his aluminum jon boat. As the river was running high I knew he had not hit a tree limb, so I asked what happened. “Cotton Mouth fell in the boat”, he said. Well said I “how big was this snake to have put a hole in the boat”. Uncle Mike put his hands on hips, shook his head and gave me a look that said I was the dumbest thing he ‘d ever seen. Exasperated he said, “Boy the snake falling didn’t make the hole. The shotgun I used to get him out caused the hole.”
