- pianotunaNomad IIIHi Badlybent,
I'd remove the post in your shoes. What you suggested is at best unsafe. - BadlybentExplorer

ive been using blue windshield washer fluid for years, it works great and is cheap, if you get the winter stuff its good to -45
I don't know if this is a joke or not, but methanol does a great job at turning your optic nerve into plastic (thus causing permanent blindness) via the formic acid created.
Some use the blue antifreeze in traps/drains, but just for safety reasons, I don't take the risk of having that stuff in any plumbing that has anything to do with potable water.
no its no joke, as i said above i NEVER drink any water from the tanks on any motorhome ive ever bought because you never know whats been in them.. - mlts22Explorer

Blow out the lines, open the fresh water tank drain valve, use pink antifreeze in the "P" traps, the toilet, grey tank and the black tank. ... Any non-treated water left will expand harmlessly on freezing.
And I really don't understand those that blow out the RV antifreeze after draining it out. If you have that capability, why would you even use the RV antifreeze in the water system??? Never used it and never will. - senfExplorerBlow out the lines, open the fresh water tank drain valve, use pink antifreeze in the "P" traps, the toilet, grey tank and the black tank. Drive around for the fresh water tank to empty completely. Any non-treated water left will expand harmlessly on freezing.
All of the above anitfreeze is contaminated and should not be re-used.
Re-sanitize your lines and fresh water tank with a mild solution of bleach before next use. Filter the water you use to fill your tank or through the shore connection. - BadlybentExploreri NEVER drink the water out of ANY rv that i didnt buy new, you never know whats been in the tanks so using the blue stuff dont matter as far as drinking
- DavyddExplorerBlue can be used in traps and the gray and black tanks but not the water lines or fresh water tank.
It took me about three complete flushes to get the pink stuff fully out of my water lines and tank. Since we weren't using the water for drinking or coffee I didn't worry about it too much. But blue would be different. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Using the blue windshield washer fluid is dangerous. It is not safe to drink. - BadlybentExplorerive been using blue windshield washer fluid for years, it works great and is cheap, if you get the winter stuff its good to -45
