Where do I start???
Took the RV to Premier Coach Services in Riverside, MO for oil change and to check out a leaking front driver's side oil bath bearing.
They started on that and asked if I knew I was missing the covers on the two AC units. I said I didn't notice it when I picked up the rig from the storage lot...I never walked far enough away to see the AC.
They also stated that the awning over the door was damaged. All this was evidently caused by one of the recent storms passing through the area. Net result, a $1400+ claim to my insurance company.
As far as the leaking oil bath wheel bearing, it was REALLY leaking - had to replace bearings, races, and seals. Also had to clean and adjust brakes.
Also had the shop verify my thought that I needed rear tires. Decided to replace all six tires. Switched from 235/80R22.5 to 255/70R22.5 size. After checking half dozen local shops and unknown number of online tire stores, settled on Hankook A12 with DynaBeads from local Shore Tires. $2069 total...not too bad considering I had quotes of over $4000+ for GoodYears and $3800+ for Michelins.
All in all a costly week, but we should be good to go.
One last thing...the weather calls for strong winds, hail, and thunderstorms. Hopefully we won't have any more damage.
Planning a trip in a week.
Hope to see you on the road.
