Just to separate the two issues, if you arrive at a site where you know/think whatever levelling system you have isn't going to "cut the mustard", by all means get out the lumber and get as close to level as your lumber supply will allow. Now, pretend you just arrived and do what your manual says WRT levelling and slide deployment!
